“There’s nothing wrong with wanting to reside in a community with peers of the same age,” he shared with the Morning News. “She’s currently situated in a building among numerous other individuals of her age group who are highly active, which she greatly enjoys. She actively participates in exercise classes, interacts with people regularly; it’s truly beneficial for her at this stage of life.”

“As many of my family members, friends, and colleagues are aware, I have faced unexpected health obstacles over the past year,” the statement conveyed. Granger also shared that she managed to journey to Washington in November to conduct meetings and supervise the closure of her office. Additionally, she attended the unveiling of her portrait in the House Appropriations Committee chamber. Granger made history as the first Republican woman and the fourth Texan to lead the committee.
Since assuming office in 2023, her term is set to conclude on January 3. She disclosed her decision to retire in November 2023. “It is time for the next generation to assume responsibility and become a resolute and formidable representative for the people,” Granger expressed in her retirement announcement. “Despite not seeking re-election, I intend to fulfill the remainder of my term and collaborate with our new Speaker and my colleagues to progress our conservative agenda and accomplish the tasks I was elected to fulfill.”
