Moreover, the data indicates that 43 percent of Delawareans have strategically strategized their holiday shopping this year to optimize the accumulation of loyalty points. The OnePoll survey, conducted for Virgin Red via SWNS, discloses that Kentucky closely trails Delaware, with residents dedicating an average of four and a half hours weekly to scouting for discounts. Notably, Mississippi clinches the third spot, with an impressive 83 percent of inhabitants embracing the label of a savvy bargain hunter.

Coinciding with these findings is the revelation that a significant portion of individuals in the mentioned states, such as 64 percent of Mississippians and 73 percent of Kentuckians, express disdain toward purchasing items at full price. The prevailing sentiment is that securing a deal or redeeming loyalty points to enhance a special experience imbues feelings of satisfaction and accomplishment.

The report also underscores the increasing reliance on loyalty programs as a favored method of saving money during the holiday season, with 38 percent of respondents divulging their participation in such schemes. On average, Americans are enrolled in three distinct loyalty programs to stretch their dollars further. However, a substantial 40 percent confess to accruing loyalty points without utilizing them, amassing an estimated value of up to $546.

As the year draws to a close, many individuals (55 percent) are contemplating saving their points for grander redemptions rather than impulsively leveraging them. This strategic approach is supported by the fact that 43 percent of consumers base their routine purchases on the potential rewards they can garner. Additionally, the study reveals that beyond loyalty programs, consumers are keen on comparing prices online before making purchases (49 percent) and capitalizing on complimentary shipping offers (41 percent).

Despite the prevailing concerns regarding holiday expenses and the persistently high prices across the United States, a prevailing sentiment of resourcefulness and frugality prevails among shoppers.
