K-Pop superstar Wonho has revealed what’s on his Christmas list this year – a puppy! The South Korean singer made an appearance at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball in Miami on Saturday, Dec. 21. Backstage, the 31-year-old was spotted posing with an adorable black lab donning a festive Santa hat. Wonho, sporting a grey cropped combat vest that flaunted his muscular arms and six-pack, shared a sweet moment with the pup, lifting its paw to wave at the cameras. In a video posted on his Instagram account, Wonho could be seen smiling and showering the pet with affection as he planted a kiss on its head. “I’m actually melting,” the artist expressed in a caption alongside the post.
He later shared pictures with the dog on Instagram, captioning them, “Visual of what’s on my wish list this year.” Wonho, who previously was part of the group Monsta X, is currently touring the U.S. following his discharge in September from military enlistment, as he revealed in an interview with USA TODAY. “I’m surprised that I was able to come back so quickly to the U.S. And I think it’s due to my fans’ support,” Wonho acknowledged to the publication.
Wonho seamlessly returned to the music scene after his mandatory two-year military service, releasing “What Would You Do” on Nov. 22 and commencing his first-ever U.S. fan-meeting tour, 2024 WONHO USA FAN MEETUP, on Dec. 4. Additionally, he performed at the Jingle Ball events in Dallas, Chicago, Detroit, and Miami. Despite his successful comeback, Wonho admitted that transitioning from active enlistment back to his pop star life presented challenges. “It was a little bit strange to be back on stage performing again. It had been such a long time … I even felt like I was so nervous that my legs were shaking,” Wonho confessed. “I thought that it was a little bit awkward to get used to making facial expressions to the camera again, and it took a little bit of time.”
Acknowledging his ongoing nerves while on tour, Wonho shared, “I feel nervous now because I’m constantly in new places and in front of new fans. Each stage is different, especially in the U.S.” His most recent single, “What Would You Do,” was composed in English as a special gift for his fans, known affectionately as Wenee. “I came back with an English single because English is a global language, and I can reach fans all over the world,” Wonho explained.
As Wonho continues to captivate audiences with his music and performances, his endearing bond with the puppy at the Jingle Ball event offers a glimpse into the softer side of the dynamic artist. With his unwavering dedication to his craft and gratitude for his fans, Wonho’s journey back to the forefront of the music industry is.
