Florida Driver Strikes Student, Conceals License Plate, Evades Deputies!

The teenager tumbled to the ground, sustaining a severe laceration to the back of his head along with an arm injury. Despite the ordeal, he managed to stay conscious and alert in the aftermath of the incident.

A witness recounted that she was attending to her mailbox in close proximity when she heard the sound of the impact. She informed investigators that the individual believed to be responsible, later identified as Wright, emerged from her truck following the collision. Wright proceeded to check on the boy before returning to her vehicle. Subsequently, she obscured her license plate using paper and tape. Nevertheless, the witness was able to discern the initial character of the license plate. Additionally, a Ring camera from the neighborhood captured the truck departing the scene.

Both the victim and the witness provided authorities with a thorough description of the suspect. Swiftly, officials were able to pinpoint a suspect vehicle recorded by a License Plate Reader camera nearby.

Wright was apprehended in Flagler County with the collaborative efforts of the Florida Highway Patrol and the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff of Florida grieves the loss of a Deputy who was tragically killed during a routine traffic stop; the suspect was later deceased.

Sarah Wright was confined to the Flagler County Jail on a bond of $3,500.

The adolescent victim necessitated staples to address the laceration and received treatment for the arm injury. Encouragingly, a full recovery is anticipated for the young individual.
