Man arrested for attempted murder after car injures pedestrians in Luton

A 23-year-old man has been apprehended by Bedfordshire Police on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident where a car struck several pedestrians in Chapel Street, Luton. The incident occurred around 03:30 BST on Saturday morning.

Two men in their 30s sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital. The arrested individual is also being held on suspicion of drink-driving and is currently in police custody.

According to Det Sgt Emma Janes, the police believe the incident is connected to an earlier altercation at Kumba Lounge, a nightclub on the same street. Authorities suspect that there may be additional individuals who were also hit by the vehicle during the incident due to the busy nature of the area at the time.

A police cordon has been established, and the road is closed from the Flowers Way junction. Police are urging any witnesses or individuals with information to come forward.
