Teen Goes Missing After Struggling in London Lake

Authorities are searching for a 16-year-old boy who encountered difficulties while in a lake in south-east London, according to the Metropolitan Police. Emergency services were summoned to Beckenham Place Park in Lewisham after 3pm on Friday. A police spokesperson stated that the boy is believed to have faced trouble in the water and is currently unaccounted for. The search for the missing teenager continued late into the evening, prompting the evacuation of the park. The boy’s relatives have been informed by the police and are receiving support from specialized officers. The London Ambulance Service deployed a crew, an incident response officer, and members of its hazardous area response team to assist at the scene. The recent warm weather has led to a series of incidents involving children going missing in bodies of water. In a tragic incident on Thursday in Peterborough, the body of a 16-year-old boy was recovered from Crown Lakes after he encountered difficulties while swimming. Meanwhile, an 11-year-old girl, Kaliyah Coa, remains missing after last being seen paddling in the Thames on Monday. Despite active searches halting, the police are still investigating her disappearance.
