Grandma’s Determination: Losing 62 Pounds Following a Startling Discovery

After being hospitalized and prescribed multiple medications, 65-year-old Tracye Craven knew it was time to focus on her health through physical activity and weight loss instead of relying solely on drugs. A year later, she has shed 62 pounds on her journey towards better health, with her main focus being on how she feels rather than a specific number on the scale.
Craven’s health took a downturn while caring for her ailing father, traveling between Alabama and Georgia every weekend for a decade while managing a full-time job and real estate business. This hectic lifestyle led to her own health crisis, culminating in a hospitalization for pancreatitis and the passing of her father shortly after.
Realizing the toll that stress and neglecting her well-being had taken on her health, Craven decided to make a change. After being labeled as morbidly obese by her doctor, she was motivated to prioritize self-care over constantly putting others first. Rejecting the idea of more medication, Craven committed to improving her diet and exercise routine with the help of a trainer at her local gym, despite feeling intimidated by the younger crowd.
By making sacrifices like cutting unnecessary expenses and dedicating time to focused workouts three times a week, Craven has found new strength and confidence on her health journey. She is determined to continue her progress and prioritize her own well-being, setting an inspiring example for others facing similar challenges.

Tracye Craven, a determined woman on a weight loss journey, defied naysayers who doubted her ability to make a change. “Every woman can’t do that,” they said, but she confidently replied, “Well, I’m pretty much every woman.” To finance her personal trainer, Craven diligently saved money from other areas of her life.

Seeking support from her sister, Craven delved into food research and discovered the MyFitnessPal app. Through tracking and balancing her carbs, fats, and proteins, she achieved significant weight loss progress, shedding about 8 lbs. per month. As the pounds melted away, she noticed a remarkable transformation in her energy levels and overall well-being.

Regular checkups with her doctor revealed exceptional results – all her health markers were in the normal range, and she was free from any health conditions. Formerly inflamed organs like her gallbladder and liver were now healthy, and her kidneys showed signs of improvement. Craven successfully weaned off most medications, except for her blood pressure pill, which she aims to discontinue soon.

By embracing a balanced diet and not depriving herself of any foods, Craven managed to lose a total of 62 pounds and drop from a size 26 to a size 14 in just one year. Her advice to others embarking on a weight loss journey is simple: “Just start.” She believes that getting started is the key to making progress and maintaining consistency.

Looking ahead, Craven remains focused on her health and looks forward to potentially returning to work. Her motivation stems from caring for her great niece and nephew, as well as her desire to be present and healthy for her grandchildren in the long run.
