A man from Texas pleaded guilty to capital murder charges after confessing to killing a Houston couple and their 6-year-old daughter. Xavier Davis, 32, admitted to murdering Gregory Carhee, 35, Donyavia Lagway, 29, and Harmony Carhee on June 30, 2021. Davis forced his way into the family’s apartment and shot Carhee and Lagway in front of their children. He also shot Harmony and her 10-year-old sister, who survived by pretending to be dead until Davis left. The surviving daughter locked the door, called for help, and protected her baby brother, who was unharmed. Another child, an 8-year-old boy, was not home during the incident. Lagway, who was pregnant with her fifth child, was among the victims. Police later arrested a second suspect, Alexus Williams, who allegedly orchestrated the killings. Williams and Davis had a prior relationship, and she reportedly arranged the robbery that led to the murders. Williams is facing charges of capital murder and aggravated assault, pleading not guilty to all charges. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Davis, whose case is moving to the punishment phase.
