After leading Xavier to the NCAA Tournament this season, head coach Sean Miller, 56, is leaving for Texas. Miller, who was in his second term at Xavier, saw the Musketeers win their First Four game but fall short in the first round to Illinois. Texas’ athletic director, Chris Del Conte, was occupied with other sports matters when the news broke. Xavier’s athletic director, Greg Christopher, expressed gratitude to Miller for his contributions and announced that the search for a new head coach has commenced. Miller, with a career record of 487-196, will be stepping in to replace Rodney Terry at Texas, who was let go after a three-season stint. Terry guided the Longhorns to the Elite Eight in 2023 but was unable to maintain that success. Both Xavier and Texas are now on the lookout for new leadership to steer their programs to greater heights.
