The words “affordable” and “safe” do not always align, especially with the increasing cost of living. Nonetheless, there are at least 15 cities and towns in the United States that offer a great balance of both qualities. GOBankingRates conducted an analysis to identify the nation’s safest cities with the lowest cost of living, resulting in a list of the most affordable and secure cities. Seven of these cities are located in Ohio, which has the highest number of cities in the top 15 rankings. Despite some towns being lesser-known, they provide a rare combination of low crime rates and affordable living options.
