According to a foreign ministry spokesman, Ukraine is still in discussions with the United States regarding a minerals deal. The White House has indicated a shift in focus towards promoting peace between Ukraine and Russia, with President Donald Trump announcing plans to finalize the minerals and natural resources agreement with Ukraine soon. The spokesman noted that Ukraine was prepared to sign the agreement during talks in Jeddah, however, further consultations were requested by the U.S. team in Washington. The discussions are ongoing, with reports suggesting potential adjustments to the terms of the agreed draft, including the establishment of a reconstruction investment fund tied to the sale of Ukraine’s minerals. The White House has also hinted at potential involvement in managing Ukrainian nuclear power plants, although Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has denied discussions about American ownership.
