New evacuations have been ordered in Logan County, Oklahoma, with the town of Meridian and the community of Seward being affected by spreading wildfires in bone-dry conditions. The 33 Road Fire has led to evacuations north of Oklahoma City, burning over 32,000 acres and damaging more than 50 structures. Unfortunately, four individuals lost their lives to wildfires last week in Oklahoma. The state has seen over 113 homes destroyed in Logan County alone, with Governor Kevin Stitt’s farmhouse being among the properties lost to fires in Stillwater. The situation prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Fire Warning for certain counties. While evacuations were lifted in Borger, Texas, following a city-limit wildfire, critical fire weather conditions persist for many regions, including parts of Texas and New Mexico, with strong winds posing a continued threat. The forecast indicates no rain relief in the coming days.
