Will Wade Agrees to NC State Job After Admitting Discussions!

McNeese men’s basketball coach Will Wade has reportedly agreed to become the new head coach at NC State. Wade confirmed during a press conference ahead of the Cowboys’ first-round NCAA tournament game against Clemson that he had been in discussions with NC State. He was transparent with his current players about the situation, acknowledging that rumors were circulating on social media.

Reports from OG Media’s Joe Giglio and ESPN’s Jeff Borzello indicated that Wade had already reached an agreement to take the job, although a contract had yet to be finalized. NC State is said to have plans in place to swiftly finalize the deal once McNeese’s season concludes.

Wade, known for his candid approach, expressed his openness about the situation, stating that his players were aware of the speculation and that there was no need to hide it. According to sources, Wade is expected to be the new head coach for NC State, replacing Kevin Keatts.

Wade has achieved success at McNeese, winning back-to-back Southland Conference tournament titles and earning automatic NCAA tournament bids. He has been named Coach of the Year in the conference for two consecutive seasons. With a strong track record in coaching at various levels, Wade looks to bring his winning ways to NC State.

Despite his dismissal from LSU due to recruiting violations, which are now permissible under Name, Image, and Likeness rules, Wade’s coaching abilities have garnered attention from NC State. The upcoming NCAA tournament matchup between McNeese and Clemson will see Wade face his alma mater as he leads his team in pursuit of victory.
