President Donald Trump announced on Monday his immediate decision to end the Secret Service protection provided to Democrat Joe Biden’s adult children. Trump expressed his objection on social media to the number of agents assigned to Hunter Biden and Ashley Biden’s protective details, stating that they would be removed from the list. This move comes after the former president extended the protection for his children in January. While former presidents and their spouses receive lifelong Secret Service protection, immediate family members over the age of 16 lose this protection upon leaving office. However, outgoing presidents can extend this protection for up to six months, as Trump did for his family and Biden did for his children after their terms ended. The Secret Service stated that they are aware of the President’s decision and are working to comply with it as soon as possible. During a visit to the John F. Kennedy Center, Trump confirmed that he would review the protection for Hunter Biden and address the matter accordingly.
