Fatal Attraction Woman Slays Drug Dealer Boyfriend with Hunting Knife!

In Falkirk, a 24-year-old woman named Dionne Christie has been convicted for fatally stabbing her drug-dealer boyfriend, Jevin Haig, during a confrontation in her flat. The incident occurred in June 2022 when Christie, who was 12 weeks pregnant with Jevin’s child at the time, used his 12-inch hunting knife to strike him in the chest. Although initially charged with murder, Christie was ultimately found guilty of culpable homicide by a jury in Stirling’s High Court.

During the trial, Christie’s defense lawyer, Ian Duguid KC, characterized the situation as a tragedy affecting both families. The court learned that the fatal struggle took place in the couple’s bedroom when they were both 21 years old. Jevin, who always carried the knife for self-protection, suffered a fatal wound to his chest that pierced his heart.

After the incident, Christie delayed calling emergency services and instead attempted to shift blame onto Jevin, alleging that he had attacked her first. Prosecutors revealed that Christie had a history of violence towards Jevin, including previous incidents of stabbing him, damaging his belongings, and cutting his clothes.

In sentencing remarks, Judge Lady Poole acknowledged the impact of Jevin’s death on his family, noting that despite his troubled past, his premature death was indeed a tragedy. Jevin’s mother expressed relief at the jury’s decision, emphasizing that the important thing was that Christie was held accountable for her actions.

Following the verdict, Police Scotland expressed satisfaction and hope that the outcome would provide some closure to Jevin’s loved ones. Christie was remanded in custody pending sentencing at Glasgow’s High Court on May 7th.
