Exploring Europe 4 Must-Visit Cities in Parisian’s Travel List!

Hvar, Croatia, is a must-visit city in Europe that I highly recommend. Having lived in Europe for several years, I’ve had the opportunity to explore numerous cities, with some leaving a lasting impression. Places like Prague and Hvar enchanted me, and I am eager to revisit them. However, my experiences in Marseille, France, and Stockholm were not as fulfilling.

Living in Europe has allowed me to easily travel to various destinations. I have explored 26 cities across countries such as France, Portugal, Iceland, Croatia, Sweden, and the Czech Republic. While each destination offered something unique, not all met my expectations. Here are the cities I would gladly return to and the ones I might skip next time.

Faro, Portugal, left me mesmerized with its beauty. Situated in the Algarve region, Faro boasts stunning beaches, distinctive architecture, and a laid-back atmosphere. A highlight of my visit was a scenic walk along the cliffs to discover a secluded beach, offering magical views that felt like a dream. The warm weather and inviting charm of Faro make it a place I would love to revisit.

Reykjavik, Iceland, was another city that captured my heart. Despite its reputation for being pricey, the charm and walkability of Reykjavik made it worth every penny. The local cuisine, especially the fresh seafood and lamb, stood out as some of the best in Europe. Unexpected moments like witnessing the northern lights in the sky after leaving a karaoke bar added to the enchantment of Iceland, making it a destination I would happily return to.

Hvar, Croatia, stands out as a unique destination unlike any other I have visited. Known for its stunning beaches, Hvar combines picturesque cobblestone streets, excellent dining options, and idyllic beaches with crystal-clear waters. The surrounding smaller islands offer secluded spots for relaxation, while stepping out of my comfort zone to visit a nude beach led to new friendships with fellow adventure enthusiasts. Hvar’s blend of adventure and relaxation has secured its place as one of my favorite European travel destinations.

Prague, with its fairytale-like charm, enchanting architecture, vibrant nightlife, and rich history, left me spellbound. Strolling through Old Town Square felt like a journey back in time, and every corner of the city held intriguing discoveries. The culinary scene was a delight, with traditional Czech dishes like goulash and trdelník standing out as must-try delights. Prague’s beauty and cultural richness made a lasting impression, and I look forward to exploring more of this captivating city in the future.

On the other hand, Marseille, France, did not leave a lasting impact on me. While France is known for its beauty and cultural heritage, my visit to Marseille fell short of expectations.

The city of Marseille, while boastful of stunning architecture, seemed to lack that special quality that truly sets it apart. Navigating the city can be quite the workout due to its hilly terrain, making it tiring for those unprepared for uphill treks. For future travels, I would suggest prioritizing neighboring French destinations like Aix-en-Provence or Nice. On the other hand, my visit to Stockholm did not meet my expectations. Despite its undeniable beauty with waterways and historic structures, Stockholm left me feeling underwhelmed. The city appeared somewhat monotonous compared to other Nordic cities I have explored.
