Shohei Ohtani’s Spectacular 2-Run Homer Ignites Dodgers Victory in Japan!

In a sold-out Tokyo Dome, Shohei Ohtani shone as the Los Angeles Dodgers triumphed over the Yomiuri Giants 5-1 in an exhibition game on Saturday. The three-time NL MVP smacked a two-run homer during the third inning, part of a five-run surge by the Dodgers against Giants pitcher Shosei Togo. This 391-foot blast followed solo home runs by Michael Conforto and preceded Teoscar Hernández’s two-run shot, sealing the victory for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers, currently in Japan for the upcoming Tokyo Series, will face the Chicago Cubs next week. The first game will see Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitch against Shōta Imanaga, while Rōki Sasaki will make his MLB debut against Justin Steele in the second matchup. Prior to joining the Los Angeles Angels in 2018, Ohtani played in Japan with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters.

The Dodgers will conclude their exhibition schedule with a game against the Hanshin Tigers.
