Kimberly Sullivan, who is out on bail, has recently been accused of holding her stepson captive for 20 years. Her lawyer, Ioannis A. Kaloidis, has spoken on her behalf, stating that it was her late husband and the boy’s father, Kregg Sullivan, who was in control and making decisions regarding the boy’s care. Following Kregg Sullivan’s passing in 2024, the victim claimed that his treatment worsened. Allegations include the victim being confined to his room when Sullivan and her daughters were not home, being pulled out of school at a young age, and suffering from neglect. Kaloidis asserts that it was the father, not Sullivan, who made these decisions. The victim, who set fire to his room in an attempt to escape, was rescued and brought to the hospital weighing only 68 lbs. After a month-long investigation, Kimberly Sullivan was arrested by the Waterbury Police Department and released on bail the next day. The case is still ongoing, and defense attorney Kaloidis urges the public to withhold judgment as his client remains innocent until proven guilty. Sullivan is scheduled to appear in court on March 26 to address the felony and misdemeanor charges brought against her.
