Mellencamp, who had been dealing with migraines and mental fog, was taken to the hospital where she was diagnosed with multiple brain tumors. Judge, not willing to let her friend go, recalled the emotional exchange they had when Mellencamp shared the news with her.
In a recent episode of their podcast, Mellencamp described the pain she experienced before her diagnosis, admitting to living through some of her darkest days since then. She underwent surgery to remove four tumors and will receive radiation treatment for the remaining ones. Additional tumors were also found in her brain and lungs post-surgery.
Mellencamp regrets not seeking medical attention sooner, as her headaches had been present for six months before her diagnosis. Despite the challenges ahead, she remains positive and is starting radiation and immunotherapy treatments. Judge expressed her unwavering support for her friend, emphasizing the importance of listening to one’s body and seeking help when needed.
