Mark Consuelos should remember to always check his zipper following an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction on Live With Kelly and Mark. During the show’s opening segment, the 53-year-old actor was unknowingly unzipped while sitting next to his wife and co-host Kelly Ripa, 54. The mishap became noticeable when Consuelos leaned back in his chair. It wasn’t until a graphic reading “Stump Mark” appeared on screen, around 12 minutes into the show, that he realized his situation and exclaimed, “My zipper’s down!”
Ripa couldn’t help but laugh when she glanced down at her husband’s lap upon their return to the screen, asking if anyone noticed. Consuelos admitted, “No! My fly was down the whole time!” jokingly attributing it to his brother seeking payback without further explanation. By the end of the episode, the couple turned the incident into material for the show by sharing viewers’ comments about the mishap.
Looking back on an earlier incident, Ripa had previously called out Consuelos for zoning out during on-air conversations, as highlighted by Jimmy Kimmel during their appearance on his show. Despite their understanding not to discuss work at home, Ripa revealed an instance when she noticed Consuelos drifting off during a broadcast. It seems Consuelos may need to focus more on staying present on set, both for his wife’s benefit and to avoid any more zipper-related mishaps.
