Country Star Reveals Struggle with OCD Before Recent Performance

In a recent interview on ’60 Minutes Australia’, Luke Combs opened up about his battle with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and how it affected him before a recent show. The country singer, aged 35, described the experience as intense and all-consuming, stating that it was one of the worst flare-ups he had experienced in years.

Combs shared that his OCD primarily manifests as intrusive thoughts rather than physical compulsions. He explained that these thoughts can range from violent to religious themes, focusing on questions with no clear answers that fuel his anxiety. The singer emphasized the cyclical nature of the disorder, where trying to rid himself of these thoughts often leads to more distress.

Reflecting on his own struggles with OCD since the age of 12, Combs expressed a desire to help others, especially children, who are dealing with similar challenges. He acknowledged the impact OCD has had on his life, causing setbacks and hindering his progress at times. Despite the difficulties he faces, Combs hopes to serve as a role model for those struggling with OCD, offering support and understanding to those in need.
