US-Ukraine Pact Revives Intelligence Sharing!

KYIV (Reuters) – The joint U.S.-Ukrainian statement issued after bilateral talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday is as follows:

In Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, hosted by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the United States and Ukraine made significant strides towards securing lasting peace for Ukraine. Both nations commended the courage of the Ukrainian people in defending their country and recognized the importance of initiating the path towards sustainable peace.

The Ukrainian delegation expressed deep appreciation to President Trump, the U.S. Congress, and the American people for their role in advancing peace efforts. Ukraine agreed to the U.S. proposal for an immediate 30-day ceasefire, extendable by mutual consent and contingent on Russia’s acceptance and simultaneous implementation. The message to Russia is that reciprocal actions are vital for peace.

The United States will resume intelligence sharing and military aid to Ukraine without delay. Humanitarian relief, including the exchange of prisoners, release of detainees, and repatriation of Ukrainian children, was highlighted as essential during the ceasefire period.

Both delegations will appoint negotiating teams to start discussions promptly, aiming for a sustainable peace ensuring Ukraine’s long-term security. The U.S. committed to engaging with Russian representatives on these proposals, while Ukraine emphasized the involvement of European partners in the peace process.

Furthermore, the presidents of both countries agreed to expedite negotiations on a comprehensive agreement for the development of Ukraine’s critical mineral resources, with the aim of boosting Ukraine’s economy and ensuring its prosperity and security.
