Plastic Surgeon Stabbed by Mistaken Identity Intruder!

A plastic surgeon named Graeme Perks, who had recently retired, was stabbed at his home, mistakenly taking the attacker for his son. The incident occurred in Halam, near Southwell in Nottinghamshire, in the early hours of January 14, 2021. Perks, a father of four, had finished work in November 2020 and officially retired just days before the attack. He informed the police that his memories of the events were limited after being struck in the abdomen. The trial of his former colleague, Jonathan Peter Brooks, who is accused of attempted murder, is ongoing in a court in Loughborough. Perks recounted waking up to a loud noise, investigating it, and encountering a figure outside his house. He initially believed it was his son, Henry, before being stabbed without any warning. Perks was hospitalized for eight days in intensive care and spent additional weeks for rehabilitation. Brooks has denied charges of attempted murder, attempted arson, and possession of a bladed article. The trial is ongoing.
