A man named Hamza Khan has been sentenced to nine years and three months in jail for raping a 12-year-old girl in a Nottingham park. The incident occurred in Aspley after Khan met the victim near Crown Island in Wollaton on 18 May last year. Nottinghamshire Police described the assault as “prolonged.” Khan, 29, who had a previous conviction for sexual assault, was deemed “predatory” by Detective Constable Jason Jenkins. The victim identified Khan during a police procedure, and CCTV footage connected him to the scene. In addition to his prison term, Khan has been given a sexual harm prevention order for 15 years and will be on the sex offenders register for life. The detective expressed sympathy for the victim and emphasized the severity of Khan’s actions.
