Shocking Twist Boy, 14, Charged in Amen Teklay Knife Murder!

A 14-year-old boy has been brought to court on charges of murdering Amen Teklay, a 15-year-old. The incident allegedly took place in Maryhill, Glasgow, last Wednesday, where the teenager is said to have used a knife to harm Amen. Documents presented in court also mention that the boy and another 15-year-old face a separate charge related to assault. Both teenagers did not enter a plea during their private appearance at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Additional charges include the 14-year-old being found with a knife on Dumbarton Road in the city three days prior to the fatal incident on Clarendon Street. The 15-year-old is accused of having a barrier pole at the same location and time. The 14-year-old has been remanded in custody, while the 15-year-old was granted bail by Sheriff Jonathan Guy.

Over the weekend, community members gathered at a local football park where Amen, originally from Eritrea, used to play near his home in Scotstoun. A statement on behalf of Amen’s father was read, expressing gratitude to the community and all those who attended the vigil. The statement reflected the deep sorrow felt for the loss of Amen, describing him as a beloved member of the community. The family is still in shock and struggling to comprehend the tragic loss, emphasizing that such incidents should never occur.
