Tom Grennan, the talented musician behind the hit “Little Bit Of Love,” is set to take center stage as the headline act for Radio 1’s Big Weekend on the festival’s opening night this year. Taking place at the iconic Sefton Park in Liverpool, Grennan’s performance promises to be a highlight of the three-day event, which will feature over 100 acts across four stages, drawing in an estimated crowd of more than 100,000 fans from Friday, May 23rd, to Sunday, May 25th.

Joining Grennan as one of the festival’s headliners is the incredible Sam Fender, adding to the star-studded lineup that promises an unforgettable musical experience for attendees. The main stage on Friday will also feature powerhouse acts such as Biffy Clyro, James Hype, and The Wombats, guaranteeing an electrifying start to the weekend.

In addition to the main stage performances, the festival’s new music stage will showcase a diverse array of talent, including Barry Can’t Swim, Confidence Man, D.O.D, Jazzy, Katy B, Nia Archives, and Prospa, providing a platform for emerging artists to shine alongside established stars.

Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the bill, Tom Grennan described the invitation as an “incredible honor,” highlighting it as a significant milestone in his career. Having previously graced the stages of Big Weekend in Coventry and Luton, Grennan expressed his admiration for Liverpool, a city renowned for its rich musical heritage that has birthed legendary acts such as The Beatles, The Wombats, The Zutons, and Atomic Kitten.

Sefton Park, the picturesque venue for the festival, is situated in south Liverpool and is easily accessible, offering a vibrant backdrop for music lovers to come together and revel in the magic of live performances. Notably, the festival coincides with the final match of the Premier League season, adding to the excitement in the city as fans flock to both sporting and musical events.

The lineup for Radio 1’s Big Weekend continues to expand, with artists like Myles Smith, Wet Leg, Blossoms, and Lola Young adding their talents to the mix, ensuring a diverse and captivating program for attendees to enjoy. Previous editions of the event have featured top-tier acts such as Coldplay, Raye, and Chase & Status, making it a must-attend experience for music enthusiasts.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on Thursday, March 13th, priced at £33 (plus booking fees), with a geographical allocation system in place to ensure fair access for local residents and fans from surrounding areas.
