PGA Golfer Russell Henley Clinches Dramatic Victory at Arnold Palmer Invitational

In a thrilling finish, golfer Russell Henley secured a stunning victory at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational, edging out runner-up Collin Morikawa by just one stroke. The 35-year-old American sealed his win with two clutch pars on the final day, but it was his eagle on the Par 5, 16th hole that turned heads.

Henley’s chip-in eagle propelled him into the lead, a position he held onto in the last two holes to claim his fifth career PGA Tour triumph and his first in over two years. Prior to the 16th hole, Henley was at even par for the day, but his remarkable performance saw him finish Sunday with a 2-under 70, while Morikawa ended with a 72.

Trailing Morikawa by three strokes at the turn, Henley showcased a solid back nine, highlighted by two birdies and the game-changing eagle. Reflecting on his win, Henley praised Morikawa’s performance, acknowledging the unpredictable nature of golf.

Henley’s last PGA Tour victory dated back 854 days to the 2022 World Wide Technology Championship in Mexico, where he dominated the field with a four-stroke win. Overcoming a dry spell since then, Henley’s triumph at the Arnold Palmer Invitational marked a significant milestone in his career.

The exhilarating win earned Henley a substantial $4 million prize, while Morikawa secured $2.2 million for his commendable second-place finish. Third-place finisher Corey Conners and fourth-place Michael Kim also earned over a million dollars for their performances over the weekend.
