Disney is breaking ground on a new dirt track for their upcoming ‘Cars’ themed area at Walt Disney World. The park aims to create an immersive experience for visitors by building an offroad track where guests can ride in vehicles inspired by the popular Pixar movie. The new section of the park was announced during Disney’s D23 summit last summer, along with plans for a live-action Monster Jam movie featuring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The offroad desert rally theme of the track will transport guests into the world of Cars, where characters from Radiator Springs race through the desert. To ensure authenticity, Disney imagineers tested offroad vehicles in Sedona, Arizona, before enlisting a motocross track building company to design the track. Customized vehicles are now being developed to navigate the course, with data from test drives used to create a genuine racing experience. The goal is to evoke an emotional response from guests of all ages, bringing the Cars universe to life through innovative ride vehicles and new character designs.
