A University of Pittsburgh student, Sudiksha Konanki, went missing while on spring break at a resort in the Dominican Republic. She was last seen smiling in a distinctive brown bikini on the beach in Punta Cana before disappearing. Konanki, 20, from Washington, DC, was accompanied by five friends from her university. She had various jewelry on, including a multicolored beaded bracelet, yellow and steel bracelets, an anklet, and large round earrings. Standing at 5 feet 3 inches tall with brown eyes and black hair, Konanki is an Indian national studying at the University of Pittsburgh. Her family, university officials, the Indian embassy, and authorities from Loudoun County, Virginia, and the Dominican Republic are working together to locate her. Search efforts involve crews in orange shirts, drones, and military helicopters scanning the beach and clear waters for any signs of her. University officials have expressed their full support in the search for Konanki to ensure her safe return.
