In efforts to address concerns regarding sexual offences and violence against women and girls, Jersey Police hosted important training sessions for investigators of rape and serious sexual assault crimes as part of the UK initiative, Operation Soteria. Launched in June 2021, this initiative aims to enhance the handling of rape investigations and prosecutions by focusing on investigating the suspect rather than the victim. Detective Superintendent Alison Fossey emphasized the importance of combating violence against women and girls as a key priority for the States of Jersey Police.
