Since the beginning of the human-canine relationship, dogs have been selectively bred for various tasks. While many of these tasks remain relevant today, such as herding livestock or detecting chemicals, most dogs also serve as alert dogs. Whether they bark at the doorbell or passing cars and people, you can be confident that their intentions are pure. Alerting is a natural instinct for dogs, serving as a way to protect their loved ones and their home, which is quite heartwarming when you think about it!
On February 25 in Las Vegas, a small dog took her role as protector very seriously when a man broke into her home. The Maltipoo, along with her owners, were relaxing when they heard a commotion outside. The little hero sprang into action when the man, who was fleeing from the police, forcefully entered their home. And wait until you hear her name!
Good girl! Princess Chicken Nugget has no regrets about defending her family and home. The Maltese mix followed her instincts and bravely stood her ground, despite her small size. Even her owner was surprised by her strong reaction.
Her owner’s comment, “She did not like that man,” brought smiles to many. It’s a common reaction sometimes! Given the loud noises and sudden intrusion, Princess Chicken Nugget had every reason to be wary. During her interview, the small watchdog lived up to her royal name.
Small Dog, Big Attitude
Many viewers shared stories of tiny dogs making a big impact. For instance, a viewer named Jessica recounted a break-in at her sister’s house, where the unexpected hero was a Cocker Spaniel/Poodle mix who bravely defended the home.
My own dogs would likely react similarly. While my Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute mix would greet a stranger enthusiastically, my rescue Chihuahua would be vigilant. Over time, he has learned to trust our friends and family, much like Princess Chicken Nugget.
With her delightful appearance and fierce demeanor, Princess Chicken Nugget is an exceptional companion. Despite her vigilant protection, her owners have decided it’s time to move after multiple break-in attempts.
