Today, parts of the Midwest and Northeast are still experiencing cold and snow, but brace yourselves for a significant warm-up. Our FOX Forecast Center anticipates a spring-like weather pattern for over 200 million people next week.
As we head into the weekend, temperatures will rise in the Northern Plains and Midwest, with southerly winds bringing in spring warmth by Monday. Expect high temperatures to soar 10–20 degrees above average.
The Northeast will bask in peak warmth on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the potential for another surge towards the end of the week and into the weekend. Cities like New York City and Boston may see their warmest temperatures of the year, reaching the mid-to-upper 60s, reminiscent of late April and early May.
Don’t forget, daylight saving time begins this Sunday. Clocks will spring forward at 2 a.m., resulting in one less hour of sleep. If you rely on your smartphone as an alarm, no action is needed as it will adjust automatically. However, for analog or digital clocks without Wi-Fi connectivity, remember to set them ahead by one hour before bedtime.
As the seasons transition, the northern tier of the country, including Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Minnesota, will gain over an hour and a half of total daylight, leading to sunsets almost two hours later by month-end.
In other news, a SpaceX rocket encountered a major explosion during its test flight, prompting safety concerns as debris fell over the southwest Atlantic. SpaceX is cooperating with the FAA investigation into the incident.
