(Reuters) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha described his recent discussion with U.S. counterpart Marco Rubio as “productive” as they planned for an upcoming bilateral meeting in Saudi Arabia. “Ukraine is eager for the war to cease, and American leadership is crucial in achieving lasting peace. We explored ways to enhance our mutual cooperation,” Sybiha shared.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, revealed ongoing talks with Ukraine to establish a framework for a peace agreement to resolve the three-year conflict with Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy emphasized the intense communication with U.S. officials throughout the day. “We have been engaged in extensive discussions with President Trump’s team at various levels today – numerous conversations,” Zelenskiy stated in his evening video message. “Our focus is clear – striving for peace swiftly and ensuring the utmost security.
