Manhunt underway for dangerous fugitive on the run

An arrest warrant has been issued for Colmenares, who is the subject of a manhunt. The warrant pertains to allegations of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated criminal sexual assault involving a firearm. Colmenares, who had been appealing a deportation ruling, was last seen in Chicago, where he was moving about freely.

Despite ICE placing a detainer on Colmenares in the past, Cook County authorities did not adhere to it. The court document states that Colmenares is accused of forcing his former girlfriend, a 27-year-old Hispanic woman, into a car under threat of violence. He then allegedly transported her against her will to a different location on the West Side of Chicago, where he reportedly subjected her to physical and sexual abuse over a period of several days.

Colmenares has been ordered to appear before a judge on March 5 in Chicago. As part of the conditions, he must surrender any weapons in his possession and maintain a distance from the victim of domestic abuse. Despite these requirements, he has not been placed under electronic monitoring.

The situation remains urgent as law enforcement continues their efforts to locate and apprehend the dangerous fugitive. The original source of this information highlighted the severity of the crimes allegedly committed by Colmenares, including murder and sexual assault.
