Breaking News: Tragic Fire Engulfs Multiple Vehicles in Arizona

In a devastating incident on Interstate 10 near milepost 89 in Arizona, a mysterious fire has resulted in the loss of four lives and left eight individuals wounded. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) reported that the tragedy, involving a total of 12 vehicles, unfolded shortly before 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 1.

According to AZDPS, state troopers swiftly responded to reports of a massive collision, which led to several vehicles catching fire in the aftermath. The collision is believed to have included four passenger vehicles, six commercial motor vehicles, a van, and a recreational vehicle towing a trailer.

In the wake of the tragic event, two individuals remain in critical condition and are undergoing life-saving treatment, while another person has been hospitalized for precautionary measures. Five others have been treated and discharged from medical care, as per the latest update from AZDPS.

The identities of the victims have not been disclosed by authorities as efforts are underway to notify their respective families. AZDPS is actively investigating the possibility that reduced visibility caused by blowing dust may have played a significant role in the accident.

FOX Weather reported that multiple dust storm warnings were issued by the National Weather Service office in Phoenix around the time of the collision. Authorities have indicated that the incident likely involved an initial collision followed by subsequent crashes, resulting in further casualties and injuries.

Local news outlet Fox 10 Phoenix revealed that over 20 emergency response units were dispatched to the scene, with two patients requiring air transport to a medical facility. Efforts to reach the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority for additional details were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
