Dramatic Cliffside Rescue Unfolds in Southern California!

A breathtaking cliffside rescue was caught on camera in Southern California. A young adult got himself stuck on a cliff in Southern California on Monday afternoon, leading to a dramatic rescue operation that was documented on video. At approximately 4 p.m. local time that day, Noah Kemp found himself in a precarious situation at an Orange County beach. He had climbed up a hill about 20 feet until he reached a steep point where he was unable to proceed further. Laguna Beach Fire Department Administrative Captain Chip Gilmore reported the incident, stating, “He’s about 20 feet from the top with a lot more below up. So he’s probably two-thirds of the way up (when) I believe when he gets stuck.” Lifeguards were the first responders on the scene and utilized drones to gain a clear visual understanding of the situation. Fire officials maintained communication with Kemp via phone and employed drones to assess the scene. Eventually, it was determined that a helicopter airlift would be necessary to perform the rescue operation. Video footage shared by the Orange County Fire Authority depicts a rescuer safely hoisting Kemp away from the cliff at Crescent Bay Beach. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this incident. USA TODAY has reached out to Kemp for comment. This article originally appeared on USA TODAY and showcases the ‘dramatic’ cliffside rescue that unfolded at a Southern California beach.
