Murder Charges Against Missionary’s Wife Unveil Shocking Twist in Faith Journey

A Minnesota woman has been accused of the murder of her husband during a Christian missionary trip in Angola, a tragedy that has shaken their church and community. The victim, Beau Shroyer, was found dead in a vehicle in southern Angola last year. His wife, Jackie Shroyer, has been arrested on suspicion of orchestrating a murder-for-hire scheme, leading to her being charged as a “co-author” in the crime.
The Lakes Area Vineyard Church, to which the family belonged, expressed deep sadness upon learning of Jackie’s involvement in her husband’s death. Lead pastor Troy M. Eason conveyed the church’s shock and sorrow over the news, emphasizing the disbelief felt by the congregation.
Jackie Shroyer is currently detained in Angola and is expected to stand trial within the next six months. The mission organization SIM USA, which coordinated the trip to Angola, confirmed that legal representation has been arranged for her. Additionally, the FBI and State Department are monitoring the case closely.
Furthermore, two individuals, Bernadino Isaac Elisa and Isalino Musselenga Kayoo, have also been implicated in the murder, with the latter being identified as the alleged mastermind behind the killing. A fourth suspect, Gelson Guerreiro Ramos, remains at large.
The couple’s five children, aged 9 to 17, have been brought back to the U.S. and are under the care of SIM USA and the Lakes Vineyard church. Investigations have revealed possible motives for the crime, including suspicions of a romantic relationship between the mastermind and Mrs. Shroyer, as well as her reluctance to leave Angola after her husband’s mission.
The discovery of a knife and a significant sum of money at the scene has raised further questions about the circumstances surrounding Beau Shroyer’s tragic death. The community continues to grapple with the shocking revelations that have come to light in the aftermath of this harrowing event.

“The obituary mentioned that Jackie Shroyer shared the family’s essentials with children and families in Africa. She frequently posted about their life in Angola on her Instagram, with her latest post just four days before the alleged murder occurred.”
