Reporter’s Enigmatic Demise Tied to Drug Speculations

The detective, as per the official statement, indicated that the same substance had been discovered at the dwelling of Danette Colbert, a 48-year-old individual who was apprehended earlier this month in relation to Manzano’s untimely passing. Legal representatives for Colbert did not promptly provide a response to NBC News’ request for a statement.

Kenner Police Department’s Deputy Chief Mark McCormick informed TODAY.com on February 25th that they were still awaiting the results of the autopsy before issuing any updates regarding the investigation into Manzano’s case. Shortly after Manzano’s demise, Chief Keith A. Conley of the Kenner Police Department mentioned in a press briefing on February 7th that Colbert had utilized Manzano’s credit card at multiple establishments in the vicinity of New Orleans.

Colbert has a history entangled with criminal activities, which encompass allegations of drugging individuals and illicitly obtaining thousands of dollars through cryptocurrency and financial accounts associated with their mobile devices. Charges of theft and other offenses have been brought against Colbert in connection with Manzano’s tragic passing.

During a bond hearing, Colbert’s legal counsel contended that she should not be judged solely based on her prior criminal record, as reported by NBC affiliate WDSU of New Orleans. The judge in Jefferson Parish presiding over the hearing denied Colbert’s request for bond, citing her as “a menace to society,” according to WDSU.

Reports from at least a dozen individuals or their relatives, potentially linked to Colbert, were received by the Kenner Police Department, as previously stated by McCormick to NBC News. This article was originally featured on TODAY.com.
