Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach has assured fans that star tight end Travis Kelce will be returning for the final season of his contract in 2025. Despite retirement rumors swirling around, Veach remains confident in Kelce’s commitment to the game. Speaking at the NFL combine, Veach expressed his anticipation for Kelce’s return, stating, “He has one more year under contract. I still think he has that fire and desire to play. As far as I’m concerned, there is no deadline for Kelce to make a decision. We left it as he’d be back, and we’re excited to get him back and get him going.”
While this statement doesn’t definitively confirm Kelce’s return, all indications point towards him staying with the Chiefs. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport also chimed in, suggesting that Kelce has pondered his future following the Super Bowl loss and is likely to return for the upcoming season. Veach shared his hopes for Kelce’s potential final season, saying, “Hopefully he has a magical season to end his magical career.”
Should Kelce indeed come back, he will be embarking on his 13th NFL season, boasting impressive career statistics that include ranking third all-time in tight end receptions (1,004) and receiving yards (12,151), as well as fifth in touchdowns (77). Additionally, Kelce has earned 10 Pro Bowl selections, four All-Pro nods, and three Super Bowl championships.
