Former athlete stuns audience with incredible shot

Former MLB All-Star Alex Rodriguez continues to display his sporting prowess, even outside the baseball field. The three-time American League MVP, who now serves as an MLB analyst for Fox, recently demonstrated his skills on the basketball court during a thrilling halftime event.
During the Bucknell college basketball game against Army, Rodriguez emerged from the crowd to participate in a half-court shot challenge, offering the chance for a lucky student to win $10,000. With the anticipation building, Rodriguez added to the excitement by tossing the ball high in the air before making his shot. As the ball swished through the hoop, chaos ensued as the crowd erupted in cheers.
This unexpected display of talent was just another casual Sunday afternoon for Alex Rodriguez, who seamlessly banked in the half-court shot to secure the prize for the fortunate Bucknell student. The celebration that followed with the exuberant student section captured the joy and energy of the moment.
Rodriguez’s appearance at the game was part of a special visit to the campus, where he engaged in a forum alongside his business partner Marc Lore. The duo made headlines earlier in the month with a favorable arbitration ruling in their bid to become majority owners of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves and WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx.
Since 2021, Rodriguez and Lore have been diligently working towards acquiring a controlling stake in the Timberwolves and Lynx from current owner Glen Taylor. Despite facing setbacks when Taylor called off the sale last March citing a missed payment deadline, Rodriguez and Lore persisted in their efforts.
With the recent arbitration victory on their side, Rodriguez and Lore, who presently hold a 40% ownership share, are now aiming for approval from NBA owners to secure the remaining 40% and assert controlling interest in the teams. The final hurdle lies in gaining a 75% approval rate from the league’s owners for the sale to proceed smoothly.
Alex Rodriguez’s impressive half-court shot not only captured the attention of the audience at the college basketball game but also highlighted his continued success both on and off the court.
