Investigation Launched into Suspended Officer Involved in Drug Incident at Darts Event

An officer from Police Scotland has been placed on suspension following suspicions of attempting to bring cocaine into a prominent darts competition held in Glasgow. According to reports from BBC Scotland News, the off-duty officer faced a security search at the Ovo Hydro venue earlier this month, where the Premier League Darts tournament was taking place, featuring some of the world’s most renowned players.

A statement from a Police Scotland spokesperson revealed, “A 32-year-old man is set to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal for a drug possession offense in the Glasgow region on Thursday, February 13, 2025.” When approached for comment regarding the ongoing police inquiry, a representative from the Ovo Hydro declined to provide any information at this time.
