Sergeant Ian Davis, from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, took to social media around 1 a.m. on Friday with a crucial message for drivers regarding the severe weather conditions. “It’s snowing. And I mean a lot, with no signs of stopping,” he warned. “Snowplows are out in full force across the county. Roads are covered in snow and ice, and we’ve issued an accident alert. If you can avoid going out, it’s best to just stay home, relax with some hot cocoa, watch a movie, or work on a puzzle.”
According to the FOX Forecast Center, the snow is expected to taper off by mid-morning. Nonetheless, snow accumulation on roads spanning from the I-70 mountain corridor through the southern foothills and along the I-25 Corridor from Denver southward to the Palmer Divide will remain a concern throughout the day.
