At the recent Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Palm Beach, she was struck by the potential of a charming guest bathroom and allowed her imagination to run free, envisioning a space that was both regal and rejuvenating, inviting visitors to unwind.
The main influence for this Palm Beach bathroom came from the luxurious boutique hotels scattered throughout Greece, where marble and stone are used more liberally compared to the United States. Collier-Clark aimed to push boundaries by combining various types of stone – such as Arabescato Corchia by MMG Tile & Stone on the walls, Arca’s tundra marble on the floors and custom fluted vanity, and Cosentino’s Silestone ET Statuario for the integrated sink – to create a truly lavish impact.
In areas not adorned with stone, a mural wallcovering showcasing a vibrant tropical scene evokes memories of glistening Mediterranean or Caribbean waters, fostering a profound sense of relaxation. Brass accents, ranging from the shower and sink fixtures by Kohler to a geometric sconce, elevate the elegance of the space, while window treatments from The Shade Store add a soft touch to the overall ambiance.
Collier-Clark completely transformed this guest bathroom into a sanctuary where the owners’ guests can begin and end their days in utmost luxury and tranquility. Despite its compact size, the designer is confident that it will provide a delightful indulgence for all who have the pleasure of using it.
“I want guests in this home to feel the same sense of luxurious comfort that one experiences when entering a boutique hotel bathroom,” affirms Collier-Clark. “It should exude a feeling of warmth and relaxation, while still offering that ‘wow’ factor that inspires and uplifts.”
