Musk’s xAI Unveils Grok-3 AI Chatbot to Rival ChatGPT and China’s DeepSeek!

Tech Titan has recently unveiled its cutting-edge AI chatbot called Grok-3, marking a significant move in the competitive artificial intelligence landscape. This development comes as the company, led by entrepreneur Elon Musk, seeks to rival prominent players in the AI industry such as DeepSeek from China, OpenAI backed by Microsoft, and Google under Alphabet.

The debut of Grok-3 is strategically timed amidst the ongoing AI arms race, following DeepSeek’s recent introduction of a powerful open-source model. Elon Musk’s xAI is actively expanding its reach, with plans to roll out the new chatbot to Premium+ subscribers on X, a social media platform owned by Musk. In addition, xAI is introducing a new subscription tier named SuperGrok for users accessing the chatbot through its mobile app and Grok.com website.

During a livestream event with three xAI engineers, Musk emphasized the superiority of Grok-3 compared to its predecessor, Grok-2. The chatbot has been hailed as best-in-class by Musk, positioning xAI as a frontrunner in AI innovation. Notably, Musk’s consortium recently made a substantial offer of $97.4 billion to acquire nonprofit assets of OpenAI, a proposal that was ultimately turned down by the organization behind ChatGPT.

Elon Musk reaffirmed xAI’s commitment to open-source AI, revealing plans to make earlier versions of Grok publicly available once the latest model reaches maturity. The company anticipates Grok-3 to achieve this milestone within the coming months. The latest iteration of the chatbot introduces a smart search engine named DeepSearch, described by xAI as a reasoning-based tool capable of articulating its decision-making process when interacting with users.

As competition in the AI sector heats up, xAI is scaling its data center capacity to accommodate the training of more advanced models. Reports indicate that the startup is in talks to secure up to $10 billion in funding, a move that could potentially value the company at approximately $75 billion. This strategic positioning underscores xAI’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of AI development in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
