Shocking Secret of Police Officer Leads to Arrest

A police officer currently serving in the force is set to face trial after being charged with various offenses, including the creation of indecent images of children. James Gullis, a 28-year-old police constable stationed in east Somerset, was taken into custody in December 2023 following information provided to the Avon and Somerset Police by the National Crime Agency. As a result, the individual in question has been relieved of their duties and is scheduled to appear at the Exeter Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday for further proceedings.

Joanne Hall, Assistant Chief Constable at Avon and Somerset Police, emphasized the importance of the community’s trust and confidence in law enforcement. Mr. Gullis has been formally accused of three charges related to the production of indecent images of children falling under categories A, B, and C, alongside charges of possessing prohibited images of children and extreme pornography. Ms. Hall stressed the commitment of the police force to uphold high standards, taking decisive action when necessary.

She reiterated that a thorough investigation was conducted in response to the criminal allegations, with the evidence subsequently handed over to the Crown Prosecution Service for authorization of the charges. While the majority of officers and staff are dedicated to ensuring the safety of the Avon and Somerset communities, any breaches of conduct are dealt with seriously.
