Mystery Surrounds Super Bowl National Anthem Singer

The Super Bowl LIX will be graced by the extraordinary talents of multi-faceted performer Jon Batiste as he takes on the responsibility of singing the national anthem ahead of the highly anticipated clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, February 9, 2025, in New Orleans. The multi-Grammy award-winning artist is scheduled to kick off the game at precisely 6:30 p.m. EST, setting the stage for what he hopes will be a performance that stands the test of time. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Batiste expressed his aspirations for this significant moment.

Hailing from Louisiana, Jon Batiste, aged 38, boasts an impressive resume as both a Grammy and Oscar winner. Previously serving as the bandleader for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” from 2015 to 2022, he also contributed as a co-composer for the renowned Pixar animated movie “Soul.” Growing up in a family deeply rooted in the New Orleans jazz scene, Batiste’s musical journey began at the age of 8 when he started playing drums with the Batiste Brothers Band. He further honed his skills at the illustrious Juilliard School in New York, showcasing his proficiency on the piano, keyboard, melodica, and guitar.

Recently, Batiste’s documentary “American Symphony” clinched a Grammy for the best music film, alongside his song “It Never Went Away” from the same documentary, which won the award for the best song written for visual media. Throughout his esteemed career, Batiste has amassed a total of seven Grammy awards.

Last year, country music legend Reba McEntire had the honor of singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl. In addition to Jon Batiste, the 2025 Super Bowl will feature Trombone Shorty and Grammy Award-winning vocalist Lauren Daigle performing “America the Beautiful,” while Ledisi will present “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” affectionately known as the Black national anthem. Notably, all four performers share Louisiana roots.

The halftime show promises a captivating performance by rapper Kendrick Lamar and singer SZA, while American sign language interpretations of the national anthem and “America the Beautiful” will be provided by actor Stephanie Nogueras. Furthermore, Otis Jones IV is set to perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing” in addition to Matt Maxey signing the halftime show.

Fox will broadcast Super Bowl LIX, with Fox News making history by live-streaming this major sports event on Tubi for the first time.

As the countdown to the Super Bowl intensifies, the excitement surrounding the event continues to build, with fans eagerly awaiting the momentous performances and unforgettable moments that will unfold on the grand stage.
