Recently, Angelina Jolie took part in a panel discussion at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival where she shed light on her relationship with her children and their stance on her celebrity status. The renowned actress is a mother to six kids with her ex-husband Brad Pitt – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
During the panel, Jolie revealed that none of her children have shown any interest in pursuing acting as a career. However, she emphasized that her 18-year-old daughter Shiloh is particularly reserved and values her privacy immensely. Jolie mentioned that her kids, especially Shiloh, dislike the spotlight that comes along with fame, deeming it as unconventional and unimportant.
Despite Jolie’s own passion for the film industry, she acknowledged that her children have diverse interests outside of acting. Some enjoy dancing, painting, and theater, showcasing their creativity in various ways. Interestingly, a couple of her kids, Maddox and Pax, have shown interest in working behind the camera, taking on roles as assistant directors on one of Jolie’s recent projects. Additionally, Pax contributed to the project with additional photography, while Vivienne collaborated with her mother on a Broadway production.
Jolie expressed pride in her children’s work ethic and their willingness to learn about different aspects of the film industry. She highlighted the importance of teaching them the value of hard work and dedication from a young age. In a previous interview in November 2024, Jolie reiterated that none of her children have aspirations to be in front of the camera, underscoring their preference for privacy. She specifically mentioned Shiloh’s strong inclination towards maintaining a private life, emphasizing the need for them to have space as they grow older.
