Incident Involving Two Planes at Seattle Airport Raises Concerns

A mysterious collision between two planes occurred at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, causing alarm among passengers and airport officials. One passenger took to social media to recount the unsettling moment, stating, “So, we were sitting on the tarmac at SeaTac and another plane ran into us, just casually sliced into our tail. Very scary.” Describing the impact as loud and terrifying, the passenger mentioned that the aircraft was being inspected following the collision.

Despite the unsettling nature of the incident, the airport assured that it had minimal impact on airport operations. In a statement, the airport confirmed, “There are no injuries reported at this time. SEA is working with both airlines to safely deplane passengers and bring them to the terminal.”

The close call at Seattle Airport comes at a time when tensions are running high at airports nationwide due to recent aviation accidents. Just a week prior, a Japan Airlines plane’s wing collided with the tail of a Delta Jet. The incident brought back memories of a tragic event where 67 individuals lost their lives after a US Army helicopter collided with an American Airlines jet while landing at Reagan National Airport.

In another harrowing incident in Philadelphia, an ambulance jet carrying six people crashed onto a busy street, resulting in a fatal explosion that claimed the lives of all passengers on board and one individual on the ground. The series of accidents had already put travelers and aviation authorities on edge.

Adding to the concerns was the temporary outage of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Notice to Air Missions system (NOTAM) over the weekend. The system, which provides essential information about potential hazards to aircraft and airports, went down on Saturday night, causing delays in hundreds of flights before being restored on Sunday. The incident further heightened anxiety among travelers and aviation professionals alike.
