“Surprising On-Set Incident Leaves Everyone in Awe”Each week, Entertainment Weekly catches up with Joe Manganiello, host and executive producer of Deal or No Deal Island, to discuss the latest happenings on the island. In this episode, Joe shares his thoughts on Dr. Will Kirby’s sudden departure from an excursion, an unexpected twist with the Banker, a showmance partner being eliminated, and more.ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Let’s dive into the Dr. Will situation. Can you explain why he left the excursion and where he went?JOE MANGANIELLO: The excursions on DONDI are unique and strategic, adding layers of complexity to the gameplay. In the recent hammock excursion, the dynamics between players were crucial, especially when it came to securing safety from elimination. Dr. Will and Dickson faced a challenge when Dickson’s fear of heights influenced his decisions. This led to a misunderstanding between them, ultimately causing Dr. Will to realize his vulnerability and storm off during the game.Rather than addressing his case value, Dickson prioritized his own safety, catching Dr. Will off guard. Dr. Will’s impulsive response further complicated the situation, resulting in his departure from the excursion. This unexpected turn of events added a new dimension to the gameplay, showcasing the strategic nature of DONDI.Moving on to the Temple, the situation became even more intriguing. After accepting an offer of $72,000, Dr. Will faced backlash from his fellow castmates and decided to retract his acceptance. Could you clarify the rules surrounding this and how it was resolved?According to the rules, a deal cannot be finalized until I verbally confirm it with “Deal or No Deal.” Despite knowing this, Dr. Will’s swift acceptance caught me off guard. The subsequent reversal of his decision created a tense moment, highlighting the unpredictability of the game. While it was a surprising twist, it ultimately added excitement and drama to the gameplay, keeping everyone on their toes.
Ganiello’s response to the shocking decision at the Temple (exclusive):
Do you truly believe that Will’s entire strategy was to feign acceptance of the offer, or perhaps did he have a change of heart after facing criticism from Parvati and David, and then cleverly discovered a loophole to continue competing? If you haven’t already, head over to my Instagram feed and view the behind-the-scenes footage from last week’s episode, wherein Dr. Will attempts to manipulate the rules by positioning himself to go up against the banker at the Temple. Naturally, I intercede and remind him that such actions go against the established rules. In my opinion, judging by the sly grin on his face during the act, Dr. Will was well aware of his actions and sought to portray himself as somewhat of a hero in that moment. No contestant desires to be perceived as the villain when pitting someone against the Banker, and it appears Dr. Will sought to garner favor with the audience before making a pivotal move against Dickson. Once more, I assert that DONDI is a game of intricate strategy, and for the second consecutive season, we are witnessing seasoned players pushing the boundaries of the rules in search of any potential advantage in the competition.

Finally, share with us your tribute to Maria-Grace, who became the initial casualty from the Family and departed right after her showmance partner, Storm. As a wise individual once remarked, “Elimination concludes your game, not your relationships…” Considering that Storm and Maria Grace, both eliminated in consecutive weeks, will be residing in the same cast hotel for the rest of the season, one can only imagine the truth in those words.
