A man was taken into custody following allegations that he posed as a medical doctor and provided medication to a woman dealing with a chronic illness. The Merseyside Police reported that the woman fell ill after administering the drugs given to her at the doctor’s office in Waterloo. Subsequently, she raised concerns with her GP. The authorities mentioned that the medication, with Korean labeling, was identified as an anti-inflammatory drug unsuitable for her condition. Upon visiting the suspect’s residence, law enforcement discovered and confiscated a quantity of cannabis. A 49-year-old man was apprehended on suspicion of causing injury with intent and possessing cannabis. Detective Inspector Sara Lang expressed relief that such incidents are rare, cautioning the public against online offers that appear too good to be true. She highlighted the exploitation of individuals suffering from health issues for financial gain and emphasized the seriousness of the case. Those who suspect they may have received medication from the suspect were urged to contact the police to aid ongoing investigations.
